Thirty-year comic book editor veteran Shelly Bond (DC/Vertigo, Black Crown/IDW), and Texas retailer Jen King, owner of Space Cadets Collection Collection, are proud to annouce that the INSIDER ART: Female and Non-Binary Comic Book Retailer Fund, has raised over 4K for 28 female and non-binary retailers across the globe!
Since its inception in April, the editorial team led by Bond and King and including Mariah McCourt, Kris Simon, Sofie Dodgson, Nicole Boose, Chrissy Williams, Elizabeth Brei and Megan Brown, has generated funds in three key ways: the production of INSIDER ART digital comics anthology, INSIDER ART fabric, and auctions of exclusive artwork, signed prints and various collectibles from various female and non-binary comics creatives.
During a global pandemic and in ust under three months, 142 female and non-binary creatives from around the world joined forces to create a 270-page, all ages digital compendium of comics, crafts, short stories and cats. These all-star contributors include: Jill Thompson, Stephanie Hans, Lilah Sturges, Janet K. Lee, and Trina Robbins; exciting newcomers Myriam Bloom, Jessi Jordan, and Amanda Gonzalez; and fan-favorites Tini Howard, Chynna Clugston Flores, AJ Mendez, Aimee Garcia, Sam Maggs, Sweeney Boo, Margaux Saltel, and Vita Ayala among others. Topics and themes include creativity during isolation, positivity, cli-fi (climate fiction), and empowerment as well as sheer fun and games. The team is currently looking into making the book available in print.
Exclusive fabric featuring three cat jam patterns and there will be a variety of colors to choose from available at Spoonflower.com.
